We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your support this year. Like so many businesses, we faced unimaginable circumstances that forced us to suspend our tours in March. I remember thinking it would be a month or two, but here we are 8 months later, still unable to run our in-person tours, vacations and events. Without your support and the support of our small business community, I don’t know where we’d be. 

The truth is, we are still evolving, finding our place in this ever-changing time, and we are finding our landing place on step at a time. We started Madison TrEats in May, primarily as a way to support other small businesses and food producers. If they survive this pandemic, our communities can thrive. It became our main focus as the pandemic continued to impact business’ ability to function normally.  We began to purposefully focus on supporting minority-owned businesses. We ran a month of bike tours, before the increase in Covid cases and cold weather forced us to suspend that tour for the season. 

Your support means everything. Because of your generosity and support we have been able to date we have put over $17, 000 back into the hands of small businesses through sales of our trEats kits. We have worked with 15 businesses owned by people of color and 9 Black-owned businesses in addition to many businesses owned by women. Most businesses that we include in our kits are single owner businesses with 0-5 employees. 

We are thrilled to announce that we received a “We’re All Innovating” grant and will be working to expand our kits and virtual offerings, including virtual tastings, classes and demos, and we will be able to ship some items nationally. We will re-launch tours just as soon as we are able!
