Tour group guests enjoying food and drinks

Public Tour Cancellation Policy:

We do not offer refunds or credits for no-shows. Customers will receive a credit for a future tour or can be rebooked with more than 48 hours notice of cancellation notice. You may also request a refund, which incurs a 20% admin fee for rebooking. Within 48 hours of the tour there are NO refunds. We have already invested resources to set up reservations, food orders, and staff the tour. We simply cannot afford to refund our customers that close to the start time of the tour. This is for Madison, WI walking tours only and does not apply to international tours. Customers will also receive a full refund or credit in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Contact us by phone to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. No-shows will be charged the full price.

Walking tours run regularly on Tuesdays- Sundays (seasonal). Tickets must be purchased in advance; tickets cannot be purchased at the start of the tour. Minimum of 2 participants required to run a tour or 6 guests for a private tour. Madison Eats reserves the right to cancel due to low attendance. If fewer than 2 participants are signed up within 12 hours of the event, it will be cancelled, and you may select another date or ticket will be fully refunded. If you enjoyed your time on the tour, tips are appreciated by your tour guide. Standard gratuity is 20%. If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please let us know when registering. We tip all restaurant staff and that is included in your ticket price. Must be 21 years of age to sample any alcoholic beverages.

Tours run rain or shine.  Specific tour stops and inclusions are subject to change without notice.
Tours begin with an introduction, so if you are running late, you will still be able to find us, however we will start our food tastings on time. If the guest requests to cancel within 48 hours of the tour, the tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE, CANNOT BE RESCHEDULED. Prior to 48 hours before the tour, tickets cannot be refunded but can be rescheduled one time to a future date. Please read our Waiver & Release before registering.

If Madison Eats cancels the tour due to extreme weather or unforeseen circumstances including but not limited to Acts Of God, pandemics or forces of nature, illness, death, restaurant closures, we will refund your money in full minus any non-refundable deposit as specified in your invoice or booking.

Private Tours:

Private tours can be booked most days and evenings with the exception of Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Private tours and events require at least 6 people. A 20% gratuity will be added to the cost of a private tour, and a 50% deposit is required upon booking to hold the tour route, date, and guide. The 50% deposit is non-refundable, unless the tour is cancelled by the tour guide or Madison Eats Food Tours, LLC. We will offer a one time rebooking of your event, if notified before 14 days before the tour. We charge a 10% rebooking fee. **

Private Tour Cancellation Policy:

Madison Eats Food Tours reserves the right to cancel a tour at any stage prior to the scheduled date due to terrorism, natural disasters, political instability or other external events which make it  not viable for Madison Eats Food Tours to operate our planned schedule. **In such a case, Madison Eats Food Tours will, at its own discretion, refund a portion of the tour price (less incurred costs), reschedule the tour, or offer an alternative tour.

No refunds are given for client or guest no-shows or cancellations. Private food tour tickets sold less than 14 days from agreed tour date, require full payment plus gratuity to hold a specific date and tour time. Final headcount and remaining balance (non-refundable) paid via credit card are due seven business days prior to the event. Within 7 days of tour, all tickets are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.

Payments minus the 50% non-refundable deposit will be refunded if cancellation notice occurs more than 7 days of the tour. We reserve the right to cancel private tours due to tour guide emergency or illness, or other emergency. We strive to find a suitable substitute in these cases to avoid any inconvenience to tour registrants. If we have to cancel a private group event for reasons outside of those specified as “Acts of God”, we will refund you in full minus a $250 booking and administration fee.

International Tours and Destination Vacations

A) Minimum Group Size:

Madison Eats Food Tours’ trips are priced based on a minimum group size that varies by trip, making our trips financially viable to operate. Madison Eats Food Tours reserves the right to cancel any trip if the trip does not attract the minimum number of clients required to make the trip financially viable. Madison Eats Food Tours will not, however, cancel a trip due to minimum group size any later than 60 days prior to the commencement of the trip. In the event of cancellation, Madison Eats Food Tours shall not, in any case, be responsible for nonrefundable expenses incurred by the client, including, but not limited to airline cancellation fees or insurance purchases.

Alternatively, clients may choose to pay a small group surcharge that would be assessed to each guest in groups that fall below the minimum group size, which avoids us having to cancel the trip.

B) Force Majeure:

Madison Eats Food Tours reserves the right to cancel a trip at any stage prior to the scheduled departure due to terrorism, natural disasters, political instability or other external events which make it unviable for Madison Eats Food Tours to operate our planned schedule. In such a case, Madison Eats Food Tours will, at its own discretion, refund a portion of the trip price (less incurred costs and the non-refundable deposit), reschedule the tour, or offer an alternative tour. Should the client choose to purchase “cancel for any reason” (CFAR) insurance coverage, and the tour becomes unviable for Madison Eats Food Tours to operate or reschedule, Madison Eats Food Tours will cover the client’s CFAR deductible up to 25% of the price of the tour.
