3. Sunday Feb 1, 2026 10:45 am The Common Hearth: A mid-winter retreat at Seven Acre Dairy/Tuli Sauna & Plunge

A blend of community sauna, herbal medicine, nourishment from our local community and land, art, movement and somatic practice create the perfect recipe for rest, retreat and renewal.

This half-day event will be a mix of relaxing and engaging activities guided and co-hosted by local women entrepreneurs, with seasonal sustenance provided by Little Cloud/Seven Acre Dairy and sauna from Tuli Sauna. Immerse yourself in the beauty and bounty of southern Wisconsin in the winter. We’ll sweat, dance, relax, eat and laugh our way into the new year.

We start the retreat gathering together to set intentions, sip tea/mezcal and connect. Then we will take time with a sauna experience and optional cold plunge/art activity guided by Lynsey Genevieve, a sauna keeper, cold plunge guide, and ceremonialist, and the founder of Matriterra. Tuli Sauna and Plunge is located on the banks of the Little Sugar River in Paoli, WI and is a beautiful wood fired sauna facing the river and trees. We have a chance to let go, and release anything we are carrying during the heaviness of winter.

From there we will head inside Seven Acre Dairy to warm up and learn about medicinal tea blends with Kristin Klingman, an Anishinaabe somatic practitioner. There will be activities that connect our mind and body and give us a chance to integrate and regulate our experiences. We will then take a few moments to move our bodies in dance (we will learn a simple version of Cuba rueda) led by Madison Eats owner, Otehlia Cassidy, before enjoying a seasonal lunch to nourish our bodies.

During this day we honor both Northern European community care through sauna traditions and ancestral foods of the Indigenous Americas, rooted in seasonal nourishment, reciprocity with the land, herbal infusions and shared meals and activities that sustain both body and community. These traditions remind us that across cultures, people have always cared for one another through shared warmth, shared food, and shared presence.
